You do not need a weekend rewrite to send a credible tailored resume. You need a clocked process that hits the highest-leverage edits: headline alignment, three bullet swaps, keyword honesty, and a quick parse-safety scan.

Minute 0–5: Mine the posting

  • Copy the exact job title string.
  • Highlight five must-have nouns (tools, certifications, domain phrases).
  • Note one metric the role cares about (pipeline, latency, NPS, cost).

Use the same extraction mindset as ATS resume keywords, but stop at five so you do not overfit.

Minute 5–15: Edit the top third

  1. Headline or summary — mirror the title once, truthfully.
  2. Most recent role — swap three bullets so two mention named tools from the posting.
  3. Skills line — add missing nouns you actually possess.
